That Buffy movie could be happening — it just might be happening without Joss Whedon and be based on the original Buffy movie starring Kristy Swanson, Luke Perry and Peewee Herman.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Fran Kuzui, the original producer/director is in talks with Vertigo Studios about the project. How could this happen without Joss Whedon’s involvement? Well Fran Kuzui bought the screenplay from the then unknown Whedon and she has owned the rights ever since. Kuzui received executive producer credit on the Buffy and Angel TV series.
I can now say definitively kids, there will be a Buffy movie, but it won’t be what you wanted.
Our Japanese brethren — always at the forefront of experimental distribution — are distributing the latest book by Koji Suzuki, best known for Ring, on a roll of toilet paper. Each roll of butt wipe contains several copies of Suzuki’s Drop.
Drop is a horror novella set in a public toilet, takes up about 3 feet of TP, and is 9 chapters long. The scoopy poopy wipes sells for about $2.20 a roll.

Hollywood studios are competing for the rights to Park Chan-Wook’s “Thirst” — and it hasn’t even premiered at Cannes yet.
True vampires are hot, and Park is among the hottest filmmakers in Korea with his great films, Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr, Vengeance, and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance already in the remake pipeline. Park’s involvement in the reamkes is minimal to non-existent. He told Variety, “I want them to treat my films as if they were books and I was an 18th century writer who has long been dead.”
Robert Pattinson told the Hollywood Reporter that the fourth Twilight book will definitely become a movie. Pattinson confirmed the news at Cannes, and said that he’d be on the way to shooting the final four days of “New Moon” in Italy on Friday, then heading back to Vancouver in October to finish up “Twilight: Eclipse,” the third installment of the series.
